Happy New Year! With 2020 coming to an end, we will embrace 2021.
Although this year has been a bit tough for the world, through efforts, support and teamwork of everyone, Beshining has successfully overcome the unexpected challenges and navigated the hardship in turbulent 2020.
Highlights of Beshining in 2020
January We took over another floor on the 26th floor of SFECO Mansion, and our office space is doubled.
February We were selected as a Top 100 Member Firm by The PCT Network.
March The 7th anniversary of Beshining was celebrated.
April Beshining won awards in IP (Patent) and Industrial & Manufacturing at China Business Law Awards 2020.
May Contemporary Design of Chinese Medicinal Preparations written by over 40 experts and scholars including Mr. Qi XUE (our managing partner) and Ms. Hua ZHONG (our senior partner) was published.
Content: This book was written in two years by over 40 experts and scholars with high academic attainments and abundant practical experience from 31 units who are engaged in teaching, scientific research, development, registration, examination and review, supervision, patent prosecution and enforcement of Chinese medicinal preparations. It is based on the practice of producing Chinese medicinal preparations and combines with experience of writers who had cited and analyzed dozens of cases. The book not only embodies their academic insights and practical achievements in the Chinese medicinal preparations but also has been of great reference value for scientific research and guidance on professional practice. It can also be used as a textbook for postgraduates and doctors of relevant majors.
Beshining’s contribution: Mr. Qi XUE and Ms. Hua ZHONG wrote the patent part based on their years of patent practice in the pharmaceutical industry which had been highly praised by the editorial board due to the substantial content of the book.
June The signing ceremony of “Shanghai Beshining Intellectual Property Development Fund” was held by Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University and Beshining.
June In 2020, according to the requirements in the firm, our colleague from quality inspection department took advantage of computer technology to independently developed an application platform named as“Quality Checking Nanny” that is specially used in our quality control system, to greatly save manpower, time, cost and to improve work efficiency .
July “Patent Basis Training Courses” with 45 topics were organized for the 7th consecutive year, comprehensively covering the basic knowledge for patent attorneys. These lectures are open to the public for free every year.
August Inventiveness written by Beshining was published.
Content: This book consists of more than 1,300,000 Chinese characters which analyzes nearly 100 cases and summarizes 42 methods in response to the inventiveness questions of patent examiners, concluded from our over 20-year experience in the patent practice with the intention to share our valuable experience to the IP industry. For each method, we carefully selected 3 examples from our actual cases in the areas of mechanics, electronics, and biology & chemistry to elaborate the methods.

November Our team participated in the first-ever, all-virtual INTA Annual Meeting & Leadership Meeting. We had connected and discussed global intellectual property updates with many associates and friends all over the world.
November Our annual employee sports meeting was held with a resounding success.
December Beshining was awarded 2020 Annual Outstanding Trademark Agency by China Trademark Association.
In 2020, Beshining attended nearly 50 events, like forums, summits and seminars where we had further strengthened our relationship with our partners or friends, new or old.
There were a few life and work obstacles this year. At the beginning, people were prone to feel stressed and anxious as if treading on thin ice. However, in Beshining, our team are more adept to take a variety measures in view of our goal. Therefore, in order to round off our clients’ entrustment, no matter what situation we had encountered, we always worked assiduously to our clients’ satisfaction. In the past years, from internal management to client services, we consistently do anything and everything to excellence. Good reputation is a process of accumulation and we give no thought to temporary gains and losses. As the saying goes, “Like attracts like”. We are firmly convinced the single spark “Beshining” will eventually start a prairie fire in the intellectual property field.
